Why waste money on your old “clunker”? Not only are you pumping money into vehicle repairs for your outdated vehicle, you are losing money each time you fill up at the pump!
Cash For Clunkers is a program created by the U.S. Department of Transportation to help you save between $3,500 and $4,500 dollars when you trade in your old gas guzzling “clunker” for a new more fuel efficient vehicle.
MileOne is proud to be a participating dealer group in this exciting new program designed to save you money and improve overall vehicle efficiency nation-wide.
What Can I Get for my “Clunker”?
Eligible new vehicles need to have an improved mpg from the trade-in.
- New cars must have a combined fuel economy of at least 22 mpg
- Small light-duty trucks must have a combined fuel economy of at least 18 mpg
- Large light-duty trucks must have a combined fuel economy of at least 15 mpg
- The suggested retail price must be less than $45,000 on the new vehicle
How It Works
Example of a Cash for Clunkers qualifying scenario (as the bills sits today):
If you have a 1995 Dodge Caravan with 100,000 miles in good condition, your Caravan could be valued around $1,000. If you decided to purchase a Honda Civic, Hyundai Accent, or Toyota Prius then you could qualify for a $3,500 – $4,500 rebate from the government.
MileOne and our participating dealers will then in return, discount the new vehicle by the appropriate rebate amount. This increases your trade-in value by thousands!
MileOne has access to thousands of qualifying vehicles in-stock from Maryland to Pennsylvania to Virginia and ready to deliver! We can help you find just what you are looking for.
Save Green, Go Green
In addition to saving yourself up to $4,500 on your next vehicle, you will also be doing your part to help the environment. The more fuel efficient vehicle that you would be buying to replace your “clunker” can save you in the neighborhood of up to 20 MPGs!
Being fuel efficient:
- Saves you money – Save as much as $200-$1,500 in fuel costs each year
- Reduces Climate Change – using less gasoline means burning less CO2
- Reduces Oil Dependence Costs – become less vulnerable to oil market manipulation and price shocks
- Increases Energy Sustainability – Using oil wisely now allows us time to find alternative technologies and fuels (fuel efficient information from: fueleconomy.gov)
