2011 Honda CR-Z – Arriving in Maryland Soon

February 25, 2010 by cdow

The new CR-Z is the newest sports sedan from Honda. Usually the Eco friendly standards force consumers to forget about joy riding and buy based on practicality, but not with this car. The CR-Z strikes a unique balance and will broaden the appeal of hybrids. It’s a hybrid for drivers who enjoy driving and are unwilling to sacrifice handling and exhilaration for mpg and environmental accountability.

The CR-Z has three driving modes: Sport, Normal and ECON™. EPA estimates this vehicle getting 36 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway and that’s when only driven in normal mode. This may be the first time customers don’t have to compromise economy for performance or vice versa.

The CR-Z is a two-door coupe, with a very sleek and sporty design. People interested in this car want to drive it because it’s fun, not just because it’s green.

Look for this new model in late 2010 as a 2011 model. The 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine, combined with the hybrid system, makes this 122 horsepower vehicle worth the wait. Fear not, both transmission options will be available, a six-speed manual and a Continuously Variable Transmission. If fuel costs are a major concern, go with the CVT model which is estimated to get more miles per gallon.

Keep checking back in to catch the first glimpse of this new futuristic, eco-friendly vehicle when it hits your Heritage Honda showroom in 2011.
