2008 Lancer Evolution GSR
October 10, 2008

Automobile Magazine recently had a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR in the fleet. Read what the editors have to say about this rally car for the street.
We’ve always been fans of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Nothing gets us going like taking an economy car and adding all the go-fast parts imaginable right from the factory. The all-wheel-drive system gives this Evo tons of grip and creates a direct link to the rally cars we love to watch. To find out how our editors like the current generation Evolution on the street, click through the following pages.

2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback and Sportback Ralliart Coming to 2008 Paris Show
October 10, 2008

Mitsubishi will show a new five-door Lancer at the 2008 Paris show. The Subaru WRX hatch will soon have a proper competitor, in Europe at least.
We were introduced to the Lancer Prototype-S at the 2008 Geneva show. There was no need to guess what the S stood for, as Mitsubishi was upfront about the production Sportback that would follow.
2009 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS
October 10, 2008

We recently spent some time in the top-spec, non-Evo Lancer, known as the Lancer GTS, to see what relationship it had to its manic sibling.
We love the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. The all-wheel-drive turbocharged rally car for the street grips, steers, and tackles a bumpy road better than many cars costing twice as much. The last-generation Evo–known in Mitsu parlance as Evolutions VII and IX–impressed us with the fact that Mitsubishi had turned the ho-hum base Lancer into such a performance icon. The newest Evo may have lost a little of its raw character, but it’s still clearly an automobile engineered by hardcore enthusiasts for hardcore enthusiasts.

2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart / Lancer Sportback Ralliart – Sneak Preview 2008

Evo Lite. The Ralliart helps bridge the gap between base Lancer and rally-ready Evolution.
Here’s one hot car you won’t have to wait long for – the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart should hit dealerships by the end of this summer. The hatchback version known as the Sportback (pictured) will arrive next year. In either form, the Ralliart will be the first Mitsubishi to directly compete with Subaru’s legendary Impreza WRX.

2009 Mitsubishi Lancer MRX09 Rally Racer

Sure, it may look a bit like a Lancer, but the Mitsubishi Lancer MRX09 is a purpose-built beast created to conquer the 2009 Dakar Rally.
While grueling desert rallies have typically been home to modified Pajeros, Mitsubishi revealed it will bring a custom-built Lancer, the MRX09, to the 2009 Dakar rally.

2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart

Mitsubishi’s Lancer family grows with the mid-lineup Ralliart. Is it a bargain-basement Evo?
As the rally-bred Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution continues to evolve, with escalating levels of power and technology (not to mention base price), it leaves its economy-car origins in the dirt. As the Evo moved up in performance and price, it created a hole in the Lancer lineup, one filled nicely by Subaru’s Impreza WRX. In the interest of gaining back lost ground, Mitsubishi recently introduced the Lancer Ralliart, a turbocharged, all-wheel-drive sedan that bridges the gap between the Lancer GTS and Evolution X models.
